Pricing
STA Legal conduct both national and international legal assessments. Both legal assessments are priced at a set rate (National – £250.00 and International – £500) and include the following:
· Document review: we will begin by thoroughly reviewing all the documents and information you have provided. This initial review will help us understand the specifics of your case and any pertinent details that may impact the legal proceedings.
· Legislative Analysis: Our team will conduct a detailed analysis of the relevant country’s legislation pertaining to obtaining and enforcing judgments. This includes understanding the legal framework, procedural requirements, and any potential challenges that may arise.
· Judgement Procurement: We will outline the steps necessary to obtain a judgment in the relevant country, including filing requirements, court procedures, and the timeline involve. This section will also address any specific documentation needed for the process.
· Enforcement Procedures: Once a judgment is obtained, we will detail the enforcement mechanisms available in the relevant country. This includes identifying assets, garnishment procedures, and any legal obstacles that may affect enforcement.
· Translation Requirements: If the judgment or supporting documents need to be translated into the national language of the relevant country, we will specify the translation requirements and associated costs. Accurate translation is crucial to ensure the legal process is not hindered by language barriers.
· Cost Breakdown: We will provide a thorough breakdown of the costs associated with each step mentioned above. This will include court fees, translation costs, enforcement expenses, and our legal fees.
Our goal is to give you a clear and transparent understanding of the financial aspects involved.
An initial charge of £25 plus vat is charged to prepare your case; this includes:
- Reviewing your instructions
- Sending an initial Letter Before Action (LBA)
- Reporting the outcome to you
- Obtaining your further instructions as necessary.
Bespoke Letter Before Action (LBA) – Charged at the hourly rates detailed below, estimated at 1-3 hours.
Our bespoke LBA includes a more in-depth assessment of your case, and a wholly personalised LBA to support your claim.
A contingency fee is payable only if the claim is resolved successfully and payment is received in whole or in part. The fee covers all work up to but does not include, the issue of proceedings and any other disbursements raised. This contingent fee includes:
– Further demand letters where necessary
– Telephone negotiations to attempt to reach full payment or a payment plan
The typical rates of commission are: 10% for UK debts and 15% for international debts.

VAT
- Fixed costs: Costs awarded by the court are inclusive of VAT.
- Disbursements: We do not seek the recovery of VAT from you as we do not pay this when we issue claims or apply for Judgment
- Our fees: Our invoice may incorporate an additional element relating to VAT, and this cannot be reclaimed from the defendant.
